Draft — for legal review before public launch
Teeny is operated by [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME], registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], trading as Teeny ("Teeny", "we", "us" or "our"). Website: www.teenyjobs.co.za. Contact: [EMAIL ADDRESS].
This Agreement applies to every organisation using Teeny to advertise or recruit for an opportunity. By creating an organisation account, submitting a listing or accepting applicants through Teeny, the organisation agrees to these terms.
The person registering an organisation confirms that they are authorised to act on behalf of that organisation.
The organisation must provide accurate identity, registration, contact, location, representative and opportunity information, and promptly correct information that becomes inaccurate.
The organisation authorises Teeny to take reasonable steps to verify information supplied to the platform, including registration records, websites, official email domains, representative authority, supporting documents and publicly available information. Teeny may decline or withdraw access if verification cannot reasonably be completed.
The organisation is responsible for correctly determining the legal status of people engaged through its opportunities. Where the relationship amounts to employment under applicable law, the organisation remains responsible for complying with relevant employment and labour obligations. Calling a position volunteering, work experience or an internship does not by itself determine its legal status.
Listings must clearly state whether the opportunity is paid or unpaid, whether a stipend, transport or accommodation is provided, and any material financial conditions or expenses. Hidden applicant charges are prohibited.
Organisations may not charge an applicant an unlawful fee for obtaining employment or being considered for placement. Suspicious payment requests may result in immediate suspension while Teeny investigates.
Organisations must treat applicants with dignity and comply with applicable laws concerning discrimination, harassment, employment, working conditions and fair labour practices.
The organisation is responsible for the environment in which employees, volunteers, interns and participants perform activities and must take reasonable and legally required measures concerning workplace health and safety, supervision, equipment, training, emergency procedures and incident reporting.
Applicant information received through Teeny may only be used for legitimate purposes connected with the relevant opportunity, recruitment process or another lawful purpose. Organisations must not sell applicant data, publish CVs, retain information without justification, or use applicant data for unrelated marketing without a lawful basis. The organisation is responsible for its own POPIA compliance.
Organisations must communicate respectfully and cooperate reasonably with Teeny investigations into fraud, safety concerns, harassment, discrimination, misleading listings, privacy violations or other serious complaints.
The organisation remains responsible for applicant screening, interviews, reference checks, legally permitted background checks, selection, contracts, remuneration, workplace supervision and termination decisions. Teeny verification does not replace the organisation's own recruitment responsibilities.
Organisations are responsible for identifying and maintaining licences, registrations, permits and insurance required for their activities. Where an opportunity involves material safety risks, the organisation should maintain appropriate risk-management arrangements.
Organisations may state that an opportunity is listed on Teeny but may not represent themselves as owned, controlled, endorsed or guaranteed by Teeny without written permission.
Teeny may remove or suspend an organisation or opportunity that breaches these requirements or creates a reasonable safety, fraud, legal or reputational concern.
By submitting an opportunity, the organisation confirms that it is authorised to do so, that the opportunity is genuine and accurately described, and that it will comply with applicable employment, safety, privacy and anti-discrimination laws — alongside the Teeny Listing Standards, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
