This is a practical website draft, not a finished legal document. It has not yet been reviewed by a South African attorney, and it should be before Teeny is launched publicly at scale. Nothing here should be read as a binding legal guarantee.
Teeny is operated by [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME], registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], trading as Teeny ("Teeny", "we", "us" or "our"). Website: www.teenyjobs.co.za. Contact: [EMAIL ADDRESS].
These standards apply to every opportunity submitted to Teeny.
1. Every listing must be real
An organisation may only advertise an opportunity that genuinely exists or that it reasonably expects to make available.
2. Identify the opportunity type
- Paid Job — paid work.
- Volunteer Opportunity — clearly identified unpaid voluntary service.
- Internship — state whether paid, unpaid or stipend-based.
- Work Experience — describe nature and expected duration.
- Stipend Opportunity — disclose the amount or basis where possible.
- Other — clearly explain the arrangement.
3. Required information
- Organisation name
- Opportunity title and description
- Location or remote status
- Responsibilities and requirements
- Expected duration and hours
- Paid/unpaid status and compensation or stipend where applicable
- Closing date where applicable
- Important conditions or costs
4. Prohibited listings
- Fake employment or pyramid schemes
- Unlawful work
- Sexual exploitation or trafficking
- Unlawful discriminatory recruitment
- Concealed applicant fees
- Requests for banking passwords, PINs or login credentials
- Misleading compensation
- Opportunities intended primarily to collect personal information
- Dangerous activity without appropriate safety controls
- Deliberate misrepresentation of employment as volunteering
5. Applicant charges
A listing may not require an applicant to pay an unlawful recruitment or placement fee. Legitimate expenses must be transparent.
6. Discrimination
Organisations may only specify applicant requirements that are lawful and legitimately connected to the opportunity.
7. Volunteer opportunities
Volunteer listings must clearly disclose that they are unpaid, expected hours, duration, responsibilities, supervision, location, material costs to the volunteer, benefits provided if any, and significant safety considerations. The volunteer category may not be used merely to avoid employment obligations.
8. Accuracy
Listings may not use misleading claims such as guaranteed job, guaranteed income or instant employment unless genuinely and lawfully supportable.
9. Teeny review
Teeny may request changes or evidence, reject or temporarily pause a listing, remove a listing or investigate an organisation. Approval does not guarantee continued publication.
10. Listing declaration
Suggested checkbox wording:

I confirm that all payment, stipend, volunteer and cost information has been clearly disclosed and that applicants will not be charged unlawful recruitment or placement fees.
